Junior British Clubs League Day 2 - 25 November 2024

After scratching around for replacement players for the first day of the Junior British Clubs League in October, the second day saw a more competitive team structure for the hosts as Cippenham brought in Rohan Bhide and Henry Wojcik to partner Edward Meacock in the first team. Having suffered relegation from Division 3 on the opening day, Cippenham made short work of regaining that status as they cantered towards winning Division 4 after beating all three of their opponents.

First to suffer at Cippenham's hands were Ashford B, beaten 8-1, then Wembley & Harrow 6-3 and finally Crusaders C 7-2. However, it was not all plain sailing and eight of the twenty-seven individual matches played required a deciding fifth game to settle the result. Cippenham prevailed in five of these and, at the end of the day' play, Edward and Rohan had each won eight of their nine matches while Henry tasted victory five times.

Chris Farrall dropped down to the second team, operating in Division 6, and he was joined by Daniel Brazil and Jude Marshall. However, for the second time this season, Cippenham B had to settle for second place in the division, having beaten both of the Warren Spring teams 6-3 and 5-4 but suffering a 3-6 reverse against Ashford C. Chris and Daniel both won five of their nine encounters while Jude won three times.
